InFocus Advocacy provides assessments and various levels of training for area businesses that want to enhance their employees’ knowledge and skill in providing excellent customer service to patrons with a disability. InFocus consultants, all of whom are impacted by disability, are part of our staff. They provide our team with feedback and assist in training, as part of our business consultation model. Trainings may include increasing business awareness of the number of individuals impacted by a disability, use of people-first language, and creating a welcoming business environment by providing accommodations specifically targeting customer needs (e.g., signage, nonverbal communication, sensory processing, service animals).
