I was recently certified as an InFocus Consultant through the InFocus Consultant Academy, along with five other self-advocates. The InFocus Consultant Academy is like a family.  We encourage each other, and learn about how to be great self-advocates.

Now that I am a certified InFocus Consultant, I can be paid to teach businesses and organizations how to better serve and include individuals with disabilities. I am excited about advocating for people with disabilities. I want to encourage people without disabilities to get involved with our community of people with disabilities.

I have been involved with the Community Theatre of Greensboro and exercise groups.  I also raise awareness about people with disabilities through my jobs at the Bryan YMCA and Mythos Grill.

I want to help the future self advocates who participate in the InFocus Consultant Academy. I want to help them learn to respect other people, and to be patient. I also want to teach people in our community without disabilities to be respectful and patient towards people with disabilities, too.

I want to recommend The InFocus Consultant Academy to other self-advocates.  Through the InFocus Consultant Academy, we can work together as a team!
